Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. Every tool on pdfsafe.io works right now, with no signup, no login, and no email address required. We do offer an optional account (email and password, a magic link, or Google) if you'd like early access to what's coming next — a Premium tier — but it changes nothing about using the free tools today.
Are my files really never uploaded?
For 21 of our 22 tools, yes — the file is processed entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript, and never touches our servers. PDF to Word is the one exception: that file is uploaded to our own servers for conversion, then deleted automatically, and never shared with any third party.
Is pdfsafe.io really free?
Yes. The core tools are free to use with no hidden limits designed to push you toward a paid plan. We may introduce an optional paid tier in the future for extra features, but today's tools aren't a time-limited trial.
What file size can I upload?
Most tools support files up to 20MB. Since client-side tools run in your own browser, very large files may also be limited by your device's own memory rather than anything on our end.
Why did my PDF to Word conversion look off?
PDF to Word is a genuinely hard problem — reconstructing an editable document from a fixed-layout PDF. Simple documents convert cleanly; complex ones (multi-column layouts, tables with merged cells, rotated headers) can occasionally misplace some content. We're actively improving this.
